Run for the Hills - Lenten Devotional for March 21st

Please read the scripture from The Message, then meditate on it as if you were a disciple
 then meditate some more.

But that wasn’t all Peter and James and John and Andrew said Jesus talked about.

Jesus said “Run for the hills, don’t go back to pack – it’s gonna be real bad for women who are pregnant or nursing. Pray it doesn’t happen in winter.”

“It’s gonna be bad – real bad – worse than the flood in Noah’s day. Worse than anything that has ever happened on earth. So bad in fact that if God didn’t save some – no human being would survive.”

Jesus – what has happened to you?  Maybe you are not the Messiah. Maybe you are demon possessed. I don’t know what I believe any more. This is not what I signed up for!!!

Peter and James and John and Andrew are totally confused too. They don’t know what to think either. But they are the “favored” ones. They’ve never really had it hard in life.  I’ve always had it hard in life. Now I want it to be easy – to be good – to be improving. Is that so much to ask for Jesus?

But wait! There’s more!
No one but God knows when the sun and moon will go dark and the stars will fall from the sky – so be ready!

Jesus – I thought you have a special relationship with God – all the “Father”, “Abba”, “Daddy” stuff.

You don’t know when all this bad stuff will happen? Can’t you just ask God?
